We're on the home straight now honey bunches, and our local stores and producers, total legends, are on call to save the day once again.

No postage or crowded shopping centers are going to give you the exquisite hand-chosen ranges that are on offer, nor the personal and intelligent service that our community has in spades.

BOOKS
Local legend Doris Pozzi's first book.

Edible Weeds and Garden Plants of Melbourne details over 25 of the most common edible weeds and garden plants found across Australia, the UK, Europe and the US. The edible weeds can be found across all urban areas of Australia including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart and Perth! Colour photos are provided for easy identification, the nutritional and medicinal properties, and, how to prepare them in the kitchen.

The purpose of e.a.t is to educate you on the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ of healthy eating, as all too often we are told ’what’ to eat without fundamentally understanding why.
Split into two parts, the book begins with an educational section covering realistic, balanced eating including what healthy eating involves, understanding macronutrients and everyday pantry staples. e.a.t then shows you how to put this into everyday practice, with a collection of whole food recipes.

Jessica is a local to the Yarra Valley and brings her expertise into our homes and community.

DR PLANET NATURAL AND LUXURIOUS HONEY AND COCONUT BODY WASH

The honey and coconut oil mixed with Unscented Dr Planet makes the most delicious almost ANZAC biscuit aroma. No need to moisturise after bathing, skin is super soft. Smells and feels amazing, a gift or a gift for yourself as you dress up for Xmas celebrating.

HONEY AND COCONUT BODY WASH

Equipment
* Microwave safe bowl or saucepan for the stove top
* 250 ml pump bottle

Materials
* 1/4 cup coconut oil
* 1/4 cup raw honey
* 1/2 cup Dr Planet
* optional 1/2 teaspoon of essential oils (if using Dr P unscented)

Instructions
* Scoop coconut oil into a microwave safe bowl or saucepan and heat on medium setting for 30 seconds or until melted.
* Add honey and whisk together.(now is the time to add essential oils if you are adding them)
* Add Dr Planet soap slowly, stirring gently to avoid creating suds.
* Transfer to glass or plastic bottle. Shake before each use.

Notes
You’ll notice the body wash separates as it sits so just shake it up before each use. I have not had any problems with the coconut oil solidifying, but if you’re worried about that you can use fractionated coconut oil, almond oil or even coconut milk instead.

40 SECOND COFFEE SCRUB RECIPE

It does not get easier than 40 seconds to whip up a homemade, plastic-free gift. Have you noticed homemade is usually more decadent than what you find in mass-produced stores? Find the recipe here!

WHO DOESN'T LOVE COOKIES!

Halve your prep time by making2 to  4 batches at once of your favourite cookie recipe. We love gingerbread, shortbread and choc chip cookies. Roll the dough up into logs and put in the freezer for entertaining and gift-giving. When needed, pull them out of the freezer and half an hour later, slice and bake. Space out the work with dough making one day, then cooking in the oven another time as needed, halving the workload! Merry easy Xmas!

Sending so much love and thanks to you all,

Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays.
