WEEK 70 - It's who you know!

Hello there gorgeous!

Hoping you re all loved and juiced up on our dear sweet life in the valley!

It's indeed a sweet life when you can look further afield and see the huge and overwhelming problems of the world, then you bring your awareness down to your local, tangible community and life and what a shift that brings. Our revels at Ecoss on Friday was such a celebration of this. Our community's potential, talent, shared moral values are strong foundations to accept all our diversity and meld together to be quite the medicine we all need.

Seriously honey, give it a whirl. Bring all that worry and overwhelm that sometimes gets you by the throat and bring your awareness to us, our home, community, your tribe, your real-life people and place and see what happens.

I certainly feel this is where we are most effective to make a difference, share information, bring plans into reality, all with lashings of love, care and joy. Where we can give and receive care in real time.

Thinking about food security, climate change, plastic pollution, education, arts funding, health care, just to name a few challenges we face together, and I bet you you can find some local knowledge and energy to tap into.

On that note, with no further adieu, this my friends is some of 'Who You Know' and have access to via Fill Good. We could write a book if we listed everyone at once...maybe that's an idea? Here is snippet for this week.

A little teaser...at the end of the newsletter there is a most wonderful clip from a modern-day elder Patti Smith singing in community, 'People Have The Power'. Enjoy!

Here is their sweet flyer with all their details!

Fill Goods' own range of coffee is supplied by our local coffee roasters Silva Coffee. We have the most wonderful program where reusable bulk packaging goes between the two businesses so you can get your coffee in our freshly packed brown paper packaging that you pop in your fire or compost after you have decanted your coffee in your own jar or container!
FILL GOOD NEW ADDITIONS TO SPICE RANGE

No more little plastic packets or jars of stale spice. Think spice bazaar and baskets piled high of vibrant sweet spices. Your jars can be filled to the brim with all the colours of the rainbow and meals bursting with lashings of flavour as our affordable, fresh and abundant spices come to you in our brown paper packaging ready for you to decant into your own jars.

Our new spices are in time for Xmas Gingerbread and cake baking too!

CLOVE POWDER

Ground clove spice is the ground, unripe flower buds of the clove tree. Ground clove powder adds a warm, sweet and aromatic flavour to food, but don't be heavy-handed because the flavour is very overpowering. Great medicinal benefits too from this natural wonder. All spices always super fresh at Fill Good.

WHITE PEPPER

White pepper is often used in dishes that need a peppery bite but where you don't want black flecks, such as in white sauces and potato dishes. In Chinese cuisine, ground white pepper is used to add flavour to soups, marinades for meat and poultry, and spicier stir-fries. Always an ingredient for a festive gingerbread recipe!

CELERY SEED

Celery seeds pack a powerful flavour punch. They taste like concentrated celery, earthy and grassy with a slightly bitter edge. It's fairly common to see celery seed called for in many pickling mixes and brine recipes. With mayo in a coleslaw they are next level!

CHINESE FIVE SPICE

A versatile blend of aromatic spices including cinnamon and clove. Sprinkle over meats before grilling or barbecuing. Enjoy a kitchen full of aromas and a dish of flavour with Chinese Five Spice. An aromatic blend of spices widely used in Asian cooking to add flavours to meats and marinades. Delicious as a rub for chicken, duck or pork!

GUT FRIENDLY HERB ROLLS

Here is our local Jessica Cox Gut friendly Cheesy Herb rolls with celery seed. Of course all ingredients are in your local plastic free Fill Good Store. Jessica's Cook Book E.A.T is also available in store under our BOOKS section. A stunning and handy gift to your self or a loved one.

CRISPY PEKING DUCK IN PANCAKES

Let's do a 3 way with our 5 spice and make a local adaption of Jamie Oliver's Pecking Duck with What the Cluck Chickens, Badger Creek Blueberry Farm Blueberry Hot Sauce, Fill Good spice and ingredients for flat bread.

Years ago when I made my first Peking Duck with this easy and crazy good Jamie Oliver recipe I was blown away with how doable this is! And so much fun to boot!

Give it a go with our local ingredients and as Jaime would say it's...Pukka Tukka!

Find the recipe here!

HOW OUR LOCAL BRINGS EXOTIC HOME

Local legend Georgie and myself are a bit red faced about how long it has taken us to get our act together and get Moorish to you all. You may know this golden alchemical magic or if this is your first time, buckle up and get ready for the Moorish joy ride, on a magic carpet no less!

And last but not least here is the video I told you all about. Patti Smith, what an elder for our times! People do indeed have the power to wrestle the power away from fools, to love and create the world of our dreams. Enjoy some loving rock rebellion!

Go well dear ones, we've got this
